It’s hard to get away from people in Los Angeles, so while back in Manitoba, I decided to pack up some basic gear, and hike into the bush alone for a couple of days.
The spot is a secret, but it’s a remote lake I was first introduced to over 25 years ago. The fishing is fantastic, and the smallmouth bass abundant and HUNGRY.
I carried two packs in, a camera backpack on the front of my body and my main pack on my back. I might have overdone it. I didn’t take much video, but this pretty much sums up the trip. I really loved being out there with nothing but the sun, the stars, the wind and wildlife.
For those interested, I shot most of this on my iPhone 6 Plus and my DJI Mavic Pro drone, but also used my Panasonic GH5 for a few shots. I brought WAY more gear in than I used, and then had to hike it all out. Ugh. Next time I will take some timelapses and get some fishing on camera.
