After publicly retiring from custom rifle manufacturing, world-class benchrest competitor Mike Bryant spent nearly four years out of the market. During that time, CNC proliferation flooded the industry with precision builders, and a new generation of shooters had no awareness of his legacy. Even long-time clients assumed he was permanently retired. There was no database, no re-engagement channel, no social presence, and no infrastructure to announce his return.
To reintroduce Bryant Custom, I developed and produced a cinematic “How It’s Made” authority film titled The Precision Rifle Smith, capturing Mike building a rifle from start to finish while telling the story of four decades of competitive excellence and world-record performance.
The film anchored a coordinated relaunch: a redesigned website, lead management system, email capture infrastructure, social media buildout, and a concentrated launch campaign engineered to make noise. Rather than quietly reopening the shop, we created a moment.
The result wasn’t just renewed business – it was worldwide recognition within the shooting industry, elevated pricing, sustained demand, and a multi-year waiting list. Mike Bryant went from assumed retired to one of the most visible and talked-about rifle builders in his space. The film was picked up by Amazon Prime and continues to attract international attention for the brand.
